Step 1: Go to Control Panel. If you are using windows 8 or 8.1 then go to "Run" by holding together "Windows Logo+R" and then type "Control Panel" and then press Enter.
Step 2: After opening Control Panel you will see a java icon on there. Click on that Java icon.
Step 3: After that a box will come up called "Java Control Panel".
Step 4: Then navigate to "Update" tab.
Step 5: If you want to Turn On your Java update:
(A). Set tick mark on "Check for Update Automatically"
(B). In Notify Me option choose any of them how you want to install your Java updates "Before installing" or "Before downloading". See the below picture for better understanding
Step 6: If you want to Turn Off your Java update:
(A). Uncheck the option "Check for Update Automatically"
(B). Then a Warning box will come up , on this warning box just click on "Do Not Check" option.
Step 7: After that click on "Apply" and then click "Ok".
