Configuration Of gzip Utility

The following steps can be carried by the systems team in order to view and print reports.

1. Install gzip utilities as per Installation steps given below 

• Copy the GzPrint.bat, GzView.bat and Gzip application files into the directory F:\Utils
• Inclusion of Environment variables: Right click on My Computer and click on Properties. Select Advanced tab and click on Environment Variables button. In System Variables box, select Path and click on Edit button. Append Variable Value with F:\Utils; at the beginning of the path variable. Then press on OK==>> OK==>> OK.

2. Association of GZ files for viewing: 

• In Windows Explorer ==>> Tools ==>> Folders options, select tab File Types and click on New button. Type gz in File Extension textbox and press OK button.
• Press Advanced button and change text appearing in box with Compressed Report.  
• Click on New button and type View in Action box. 
• In ‘Application used to perform action’ box, browse for gzview.bat present in F:/Utils and click on OK button.

3. Association of GZ files for printing: 

• In Windows Explorer ==>> Tools ==>> Folders options, select tab File Types and click on New button. Type gz in File Extension textbox and press OK button.
• Press Advanced button and change text appearing in box with Compressed Report. 
• Click on New button and type View in Action box. 
• In ‘Application used to perform action’ box, browse for gzprint.bat present in F:/Utils and click on OK button
